Suffering several casualties including the driver, Gearbox assigned the Sergeant to disable the missile launchers in the village while he reorganized the Republic troopers who survived the crash, preparing them to move out and try to fix the walker. The APC, carrying the Sergeant, Gearbox and others, was shot down by two armor-piercing missiles. While the walker was moving near the Drelliad village, the separatist launched an assault on the location. The weapon being capable of massive destruction, the mission to recover it was given to the elite unit Havoc Squad. A powerful bomb, called the ZR-57, was stolen by Mantellian separatists after shooting down a Republic ship that was carrying it. Inside the APC, Kolos introduced himself and briefed the Sergeant about their objective on the planet. The trooper was then ordered to enter a Manka-class armored transport that was about to depart to a Republic outpost called Fort Garnik, where he was supposed to meet up with the rest of his new unit. The Sergeant was welcomed with a snappy salute by Lieutenant Bex Kolos, also known as Gearbox, a member of Havoc Squad just as he disembarked. Safely entering the atmosphere of Ord Mantell, the future Commander and a group of Republic troopers set foot on Mantellian ground. Upon arrival in orbit around the planet Ord Mantell, the starship carrying the Sergeant evaded an ongoing space battle between the Separatist fleet and the Republic Navy. " I'll fight the enemies of the Republic with everything I've got, sir." ―The Lieutenant to Kolos Though Havoc's former members searched the galaxy for their commander, the major was eventually declared dead and posthumously promoted to colonel. The squad continued to serve valiantly in their leader's absence, but soon fractured, leaving Aric Jorgan in command of a new Havoc. However, the major vanished in 3636 BBY, shortly before the Republic and the Empire were invaded and conquered by the Eternal Empire from Wild Space. Havoc Squad continued to serve under their commander's leadership in the coming years, playing parts in campaigns such as the one to foil the Order of Revan's designs on the moon Yavin 4. Meteor and the rest of Havoc successfully breached the Bastion and captured Rakton, earning the Cross of Glory and a promotion to major for the commander and the Gold Crescent for the rest of the unit. After rescuing Republic prisoners-of-war from Rakton's clutches despite another trap, Havoc freed up Republic resources on the planet Voss before joining the ongoing Battle of Corellia, pushing through to Rakton's command center in the occupied Bastion. In order to combat Rakton's campaign of revenge against the Republic amid the ongoing war, Havoc was deployed across the galaxy, rescuing kidnapped Republic leaders from a trap set by Rakton and recruiting the unfairly disgraced starfighter unit Dagger Wing from the prison planet of Belsavis amid an Imperial invasion. With the squad fully rebuilt, Havoc launched a coordinated assault on the Gauntlet that saw the starship destroyed-but doing so earned Havoc the wrath of General Arkos Rakton, the Empire's most brilliant and most ruthless commander. At Garza's behest, Havoc rebuilt its ranks, recruiting Tanno Vik on war-torn Balmorra as a demolitions expert, and the Gand Findsman Yuun from his assignment of rebuilding an Imperial black cipher on Hoth. The SpecForce Incident came to a head when Havoc assaulted Tavus's flagship, the Justice, and captured the traitor.Īs the galaxy headed towards renewed war, Havoc Squad was tasked with destroying the Gauntlet, a superweapon built by the Empire. Havoc pursued its former members to Taris, Nar Shaddaa, Tatooine, and Alderaan, gaining new members in Sergeant Elara Dorne and the experimental battle droid M1-4X. Promoted to Lieutenant, "Meteor" was given command of Havoc, and tasked by General Elin Garza with hunting down the traitors alongside the recently demoted Aric Jorgan. However, Havoc's mission to recover a stolen ZR-57 orbital strike bomb left the sergeant as the only remaining member of the unit when Commander Harron Tavus led the rest of the squad and many other SpecForce personnel in defecting to the Empire, sparking the SpecForce Incident. Receiving top marks in the academy, the soldier was assigned to Havoc Squad as a sergeant while the unit was deployed on the planet Ord Mantell during the Separatist War. Meteor was the callsign of a soldier in the Republic Army who led Havoc Squad, the premier unit in the Republic Special Forces Division, during the Cold War and Galactic War against the reconstituted Sith Empire.
